Why Us?

Here at Great British Journeys we believe that a tour of Britain shouldn’t offer you just a passing glimpse of the key sites but should enable you to spend quality time at points of interest, immerse yourself in our culture and truly experience your destination; we therefore carefully put together our touring programmes with a range of principles in mind…

Guaranteed Small Group-Size

Size matters! Your Great British Journey will have a guaranteed maximum group-size of just 16 passengers. The small group ensures an intimate touring experience where you can easily get to know your travel companions and interact directly with your tour leader. The small-group also offers logistical benefits such as speedy boarding and disembarking of the mini-coach and swift check-in at attractions and hotels – less time waiting in queues means more time experiencing Britain!

Knowledgeable Tour Leaders

Our tour leaders are all hand-picked for their passion and enthusiasm for the destination you’re visiting; Britain. As locals here they’ll share their wealth of knowledge and personal insight of the country they call home, as they guide you through the countryside and towns of England, Scotland and Wales.

Balanced Itineraries

At Great British Journeys we have taken time carefully putting together our itineraries to ensure that they are perfectly balanced; our guests see both the visitor “must-sees” and the hidden gems, enjoy scheduled sightseeing along with plenty free-time and dine together on dinner-inclusive evenings as well as having the opportunity to eat out independently.  And we guarantee that we never spend hours at a time on the bus without plenty of comfort, sightseeing and photo stops.

Characterful Accommodations

Travelling with a small-group means that you can stay in smaller hotels! At Great British Journeys we carefully select our overnight lodgings with a focus on local, privately owned or family-run establishments; we find these hotels can offer a more personal service and a more authentic flavour of Britain. Many of the properties we use are historic in nature and on some of our itineraries you’ll enjoy feature stays in manor-houses, coaching inns or even castle accommodations!

Travel in Comfort and Style

At Great British Journeys we use quality, modern mini-coaches or luxury people-carriers which are ideal for touring the UK. The interiors are spacious with comfortable leather seating, large windows for panoramic sightseeing and air-conditioning for passenger comfort. Off the Beaten-Track

We promise that on a Great British Journey you won’t just see England’s highways! The beauty of travel by mini-coach is that the vehicles are small enough to get off the main roads and away from the beaten tourist track. With our carefully prepared itineraries you’ll take the roads less travelled, navigate the scenic routes and reach the smaller villages and attractions which larger coach groups simply can’t get to.

Destination Specialists

Great British Journeys is a company based in Britain and our staff know our home-nation, your destination, inside-out. This knowledge of England, Scotland and Wales is used in everything we do from planning the perfect driving routes and itineraries to developing the closest working relationships with our partners.  We only provide tours of the country we know and love and don’t sell holidays to anywhere else.

Personal Service and Extra Arrangements

Great British Journeys is a small business and, as such, we promise to offer the service you would expect of your local travel agent. For your convenience we offer online booking, however should you choose to email or phone us your booking and questions will be handled by one of our friendly, local, Britain experts. And unlike other tour operators we won’t just book your tour seats and leave the rest to you; all of our agents are experienced in tailor-made travel and will be happy to assist you with additional arrangements such as airport transfers, pre/post tour accommodation and sightseeing options if you so require.

Local Experiences

On a Great British Journey, we want you to experience the culture of your destination, not simply gain a superficial oversight. This is why we promise to give you plenty of time to explore attractions at your own pace and include a selection of interactive cultural activities such as riding heritage steam trains, enjoying local pub meals or learning the art of carving wooden spoons in Wales.

Book in Confidence

Great British Journeys is a trading brand of adeo Travel, a legally registered company in the UK under company number 08278458.
